Lamellar type separator
Lamellar type separator
The ABETON lamellar type separator is specially designed for purification of polluted water from roads, parking lots, etc., where heavy precipitation occurs, different amounts of water and concentrations of pollutants.
The cleaning effect of the lamellar separator depends on the amount of water supplied, less load provides better cleaning. Lamellar separators are made of concrete and are classified as class 1 and class 2 separators.
The principle works
The lamellar-type separator separates and restrains oil pollution that rises to the surface and heavy particles that settle down. Separated petroleum products and particulate matter (sediment) are stored separately from the “purified water flow path”, so there is a small risk of twisting and ingress of residual petroleum products and sediment into the outlet pipe at high hydraulic loads.
The separator is equipped with inclined plates through which water flows. Beveled parallel plates contribute to the formation of a laminar flow, which reduces the speed of water with petroleum products and suspended particles. Water separates on the plates: petroleum products rise, and suspended particles, on the contrary, settle to the bottom of the separator. The increased efficiency of lamellar plates allows to reduce time of stay of sewage in a separator.
Future climate change and increased extreme rainfall are making the lamellar separator a useful alternative to others. Its high hydraulic power makes it able to cope with increasing rainfall, without the risk of emergencies contaminated with petroleum residues.
The efficiency (power) of the lamellar separator is divided into three levels (A, B, C) depending on the supplied water (liters per second):
A: At loads below level A, the separator plates separate the petroleum products accordingly
class 1 and complies with DSTU 3013-95 “Rules for control over the removal of rain and snow wastewater from
territories of cities and industrial enterprises ”,“ Rules of acceptance of wastewater of enterprises into communal and
departmental sewerage systems of settlements of Ukraine ”.
B: At medium loads from A to B, the separator plates separate the oil products
according to class 2 and comply with DSTU 3013-95 “Rules for control over the removal of rain and snow
wastewater from the territory of cities and industrial enterprises ”,“ Rules of acceptance of wastewater from enterprises in
communal and departmental sewerage systems of settlements of Ukraine ”.
C: The maximum allowable load that can pass through the separator plates (hydraulic
capacity).
